ROSARIO, Cavite, Jan. 17 (PIA) –The municipal council of this coastal municipality has passed a resolution for the construction of Rosario General Hospital (RGH) and the planned transfer of the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) which is currently located in Mandaluyong City.

Mr. Buddy Villacruz, Municipal Information Officer said the groundbreaking ceremony is originally scheduled this month but due to unforeseen events, it will be announced at the earliest possible time.

Rosario General Hospital - CaviteThe construction of the said hospitals will be on the property owned by the Philippine National Oil Corporation located in Barangay Tejeros near the Costa Verde Subdivision.

Villacruz added that the transfer of NCMH to Rosario is necessary considering that the government is spending a lot for rental expenses for the past 80 years.

The national government allocated P6 billion for the construction of the NCMH and Rosario General Hospital (RGH) wherein, 100 beds (in RGH) will be for legitimate residents of Rosario and the remaining 200 beds will be for all residents in the province. Upon completion, RGH will have a 300-bed capacity to service the health needs of the province.

In an earlier statement by Mayor Jose “Nonong” Ricafrente, currently the President of the Cavite Mayor’s League, he revealed that once the two hospitals are completed it can be used by more than 5,000 nurses and midwives for their training to further enhance their medical knowledge and eventually fulfill their dreams in working here and abroad.
