BACOOR, Cavite, June 8 (PIA) — Second district representative Lani Mercado-Revilla is positive that by next year, this first class municipality’s dream to cityhood will become a reality.
The lady solon made the assurance during the recent launching of the Mamamayan Nilalang para sa Lambat at Dagat Cooperative in Barangay Siniguelasan where she was the guest of honor and speaker.
The Bacoor cityhood measure is now on the second reading at the House of Representatives. Rep Mercado-Revilla mentioned they are just waiting for the House to approve the said bill after the third and final reading before transmitting it to the Senate.
In her speech, the lady solon was quoted as saying that “Bacoor will become a city as soon as we go on with the plebiscite in 2012.” She was sure that the municipal government headed by her brother-in-law Mayor Strike Revilla will support the will of the people of through a Plebiscite.
Other first class municipalities in the province who have pending application for cityhood status at Congress are Imus, Carmona and General Trias.
