General Trias Recognizes 670 Youths in the 54th Gawad Parangal

GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite, May 23 (PIA) — Local executives of this premier municipality recently recognized 670 youths who finished elementary, high school and college during the 54th Gawad Parangal held at the General Trias Cultural and Convention Center.

These include 360 elementary students, 185 in high school and 19 who graduated college and 43 new professionals in various fields.

The Gawad Parangal is a yearly undertaking of the local government to give recognition to Gentriseños in the field of education.

General Trias, Cavite - Gawad ParangalGeneral Trias Mayor Luis “Jon-Jon” Ferrer IV encouraged and challenged the students to study hard to achieve their ultimate goals in life which is to finish college and become responsible professionals in their community.

Ferrer added that poverty is not an obstacle in pursuing education as the local government is always supportive to the needs of the youths.

Dr. Jonathan Luseco, Medical Officer V of the Municipal Health Office shared his hard earned experienced to the honorees as he started working as a nurse, work overseas to finish his medicine degree. Dr. Luseco advised the honorees to give utmost importance to the dreams and strive hard to achieve their goals in life.

Ms. Marjorie Joyce Aguas, who finished Summa Cum Laude at the Far Eastern University (FEU), thanked the local government for the financial support. Aguas shared three important aspects in achieving her goals in life. These are diligence, perseverance and most importantly, guide from the Creator. (PIO/CPG/RBF/PIA4A-Cavite)
