Aside from Kalayaan Festival, Cavite City also celebrates Water Festival or popularly known as Regada Festival every June.
The festival is done three days from june 22-24 done in celebration of St. John the Baptist.
This celebration developed into an environmental, religious and cultural activity.
“Regada” was derived from Spanish word “regar” from the chavacano speaking Cavitenos, which means water or to sprinkle. Well then if you are to attend this event you must be prepared to get wet.
People filled the street to participate activities like wet street dancing or the “Basayawan sa Kalye”, with colorful costumes, games,trade fair and concerts.
Regada started in 1996 during the tenure of the Mayor Tim Encarnacion and from then on, was held every year there on during the month of June.
